Turquoise flannel with fanciful bugs n’ bees Bright turquoise and fanciful bugs are the focus fabrics for this wall hanging/ pocket bulletin board. The upper band of bugs is bordered by a row of bumblebees against a deep turquoise background and edged with a decorative feather stitch. The fabric is repeated along the bottom with a black dot upper edge that gives definition to the pocket. These bugs n’ critters are so happy, they almost jump off the wall. Snails, glow worms, ladybugs and bumblebees liven up the day. The main background is fossil fern flannel by Benartex in paris sky, one of my favorite colors ever. It is layered with batting ( 100% polyester by Mountain Mist) for softness and so it can be used as a bulletin board if you want to attach things. The pocket is deep enough for a favorite book or stuffed animal. There is decorative stitching and a covered seam on the pocket edge to prevent raveling with repeated washing. The outer border is ”boxed in “ in turquoise by Fabric Visions and repeats the colors of the focus fabric. Backing is 200 count white muslin by Moda. For hanging, there are coordinating fabric loops to hold a birch dowel, covered in yarn by Lions Brand, homespun line. The dowel can be removed for play on the floor or bed. Tuck away treats or toys.
