Cobalt/ Sunshine Yellow 8 Pointed Star

59" X 60" This quilt has 16 eight pointed star design squares surrounded by flannel and other borders that repeat the focus fabric in the centers. There is a secondary diamond and lattice design that is created from the fabrics used. The corner blocks of blue/violet iris also create a larger square of these colors. The shades of periwinkle, medium aquamarine and topaz are interspersed with sun yellow and butterscotch daffodils. The fabrics are from "morning mist" a Year in the meadow line by Robert Hoffman International.The first border and outer edge are cobalt/royal flannel in the Tokoyo line by Red Rooster. The second border is midnight blue "prints de soleil" by Hoffman. There is a narrow edge of the focus fabric to create a "pop" in the borders. The light and movement in the interior of this quilt is grounded by the richness of the tone and weight of the flannel in the border fabrics. The super soft flannel edging makes this a snuggler. The backing is 200 count white muslin by Moda. This quilt is machine quilted using the stitch in the ditch pattern. One of a kind.
