This extra special quilt uses 5 fabrics from Mary Engelbright that have not been available for many years (from my stash). They are incredibly sweet. There are 9 blocks. The 3 jewels are separate panels of 1950's style scenes of a child sewing, they are truly charming. There are 4 wonderful blocks of signature multi row flowers and squiggles on the horizontal surrounded by rosebuds, gingham and plaid borders. The 2 diagonal remaining blocks are centered with her fabric with nosegay flowers and butterflies in a pink background. This is a classic keepsake quilt and those who are Mary Engelbright fans will understand what a treasure it is to even find this fabric. All outer borders are repeats of interior fabrics. The pastel yellow flannel which is the setting for the blocks and used in border #4 reflects the soft sweetness of this quilt. The edge and backing are an extremely soft cotton plaid which also borders all nine blocks. This unifies the quilt, inner and outer, front and back. There is yellow feather stitching crisscrossing the center blocks. This is machine quilted using the stitch in the ditch pattern at every seam. It can be washed repeatedly if you wish.
This focus fabric has not been available for many years and I only had enough fabric to cut one of each panel.
This is a larger child’s quilt at 50" x 50". absolutely one of a kind
