Non Toxic & Environmentally Sound Policies

Due to health concerns of my own, I cannot tolerate allergens or toxins of any kind. For this reason, I have build a totally non toxic home where I work. These products are safe for those with allergies, chemical sensitivities, and children. They have not had contact with mold, pollen, fragrance of any kind, nuts, fish, wood smoke, cigarette smoke, pesticides, latex, chemicals, finishes, animal dander, air fresheners,or cleaning products. Fabric softener or scented detergent has never been used in the washer or dryer. Austin Air Health mate filters have been used throughout the house to ensure superior air quality.

Studies have shown that we all carry a "body burden" of acccumulated chemicals in our bodies. Even polar bears in the artic circle have measurable amounts of banned pesticides such as DDT in their body fat. Fire retardants in mattresses, wrinkle free finishes in bedding and clothes that contain formaldehyde are absorbed through the skin. Children are especially at risk as their body weight is so low. Studies show measurable developmental effects from low level chemical exposure at young ages. Reducing toxic exposure has a direct impact on health and is especially important for children. I am like the canary in the coal mine because I have such severe health reactions to chemicals and allergens most people tolerate. Therefore, all the products I make have to be 100% non toxic.

I have been inspired to make bags for gift and shopping. Many plastic bags are scented. The controversy between plastic vs paper bags is solved by using fabric bags. You can save hundresds of bags a year by using your own bags, By passing gift bags back and forth between friends you can do a good thing and save money !
